Your firm.
Your data.
Your choice.

We’re developing Anise for midsize and large law firms that want control over their data, infrastructure, and model choices. Privacy is our starting point. Time is our first planned release.

Early development. Shaped with firms like yours.

Firm-owned data. Flexible infrastructure. Model choice. Our starting point

A legal stack.
On your terms.

Your firm’s client relationships depend on discretion. We believe its records, infrastructure, and technology choices should remain under its control.

SpiceLegal is the initiative behind Anise. We’re planning a client-focused stack that lets firms choose where data lives and which models they use, including local LLMs—without tying their future to one provider.

03 /Our development principles

Privacy.
By design.

The direction is clear. We’re developing the products around these principles, and inviting firms to help us put them into practice.

01

Your data stays yours.

We believe firm and client records belong under the firm’s control. Our aim is to give firms ownership of their data and the infrastructure around it.

02

Choose your models.

We’re planning for firms to select and change the models they use, including local LLMs. Model choice should stay with the firm, with freedom to move as its needs evolve.

03

Local storage matters.

Local storage for selected records is a core development priority, including for firms handling national security work and other matters with heightened confidentiality needs.

04

Clients come first.

We want a legal stack that serves client relationships and firm needs, with less dependence on ongoing cloud-token spending. Deployment flexibility is part of that direction.

Experience behind the idea

Shaped by 15+ years
in legal technology.

The people involved bring more than 15 years of legal technology experience. We’re using that perspective to ask what a more private, firm-controlled stack could look like—and listening to the firms it would serve.
